Rumors persist that United States-based cryptocurrency exchange Gemini may be planning to list ADA, the tenth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
The rumors began when Gemini described Cardano as “an open-source protocol focused on democratizing consensus and governance processes.”
Gemini also published an article about Cardano written by Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, on its educational platform Cryptopedia.
According to a video shared by Cardano coin staking pool St₳kΣ with Pride, Gregaard revealed that he is working with top cryptocurrency exchanges to potentially list ADA.
Cardano community looks forward to Gemini possibly listing ADA on its exchange
A few weeks after Gregaard’s comments, Gemini published an article about Cardano, sparking speculation that the exchange might list ADA.
These speculations have been fueled by prominent Cardano community members including St₳kΣ with Pride. In a recent post, St₳kΣ with Pride asserted that Gemini will list ADA and potentially support other digital assets on the Cardano blockchain, namely Cardano Native Tokens (CNTs).
Delays in listing ADA on Gemini
Since Gemini’s post, the exchange has not shared any updates on whether it plans to list ADA anytime soon.
Founded in 2014, Gemini is currently one of the world's leading centralized cryptocurrency exchanges.
According to CoinMarketCap, Gemini is ranked 16th with a 24-hour trading volume of $54.41 million. Currently, it supports a variety of crypto assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Greek Dogcoin (SHIB), Filecoin (FIL), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Despite being founded in 2014, Gemini has yet to list ADA, which is currently the tenth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Gemini’s delay in listing ADA has frustrated many Cardano community members.
The exchange has repeatedly ignored calls to list ADA and has not explained its actions against Cardano. Gemini’s launch of Cardano has sparked a new wave of optimism within the community, with many speculating that the exchange may soon list ADA.
