Shiba Inu leader Shytoshi Kusama has launched a series of attacks on Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson after announcing that he will work with the U.S. government to promote crypto policy.
The Cardano founder was in the news over the weekend when he returned “offline.” This time, it’s not about another spat or his infamous Cardano defence speech, but a positive development for Cardano.
Cardano founder to work with Trump on cryptocurrency
Hoskinson announced in a podcast on Nov. 9 that he will spend much of the next year working with the Trump administration to establish clear regulations for the crypto industry. He noted that he will be working with several other industry leaders.
The Cardano founder further revealed that Input-Output Global (IOG) will set up a policy office and hopes to start working with the US government in January next year. He noted that the office will help bring together a number of pro-cryptocurrency bills, including the Financial Innovative Technology 21 (FIT21) and the Lennon-Gillibrand Responsible Financial Innovation Act (RFIA).
Notably, Hoskinson said such collaboration is not yet fully certain, noting that Trump has yet to take office following his Nov. 5 election victory. However, he expressed optimism that he could be part of the cryptocurrency policy team because he has “personal friendships” with certain lawmakers on the Trump transition team.
Shiba Inu leader taunts Hoskinson
Meanwhile, Hoskinson’s revelation sent ADA’s price soaring, rising 40% in 24 hours to a seven-month high of over 60 cents. However, this drew derision from Shiba Inu leader Shytoshi Kusama, who pointed out a number of issues from the announcement.
In one post, the pseudonymous leader first responded with the words "Really?!!!" and attached a GIF image. Kusama further stated that he had just understood Hoskinson’s “wording,” which is why Hoskinson announced the so-called collaboration, not the Trump administration.
Furthermore, the Shiba Inu leader insisted that he would never announce cooperation with any country without official confirmation from the government. He said "clearly" the government would also have to announce this collaboration.
Meanwhile, Hoskinson’s post drew cheers and applause from the crypto community, with people praising his commitment to advancing the digital asset industry. For example, one user said that the founder was finally being recognized as a smart person who would make meaningful contributions to the U.S. government.
