Report: Elon Musk is following Cardano fan page

The Cardano community Twitter account Cardano Feed recently hinted that tech billionaire Elon Musk has shown interest in Cardano, but there is a small catch.

On Monday, April 1, Cardano Feed shared a screenshot showing that Elon Musk had started following their account.

"OMG! Welcome aboard, Elon Musk," the statement read.

Community Response

This revelation on the Cardano Feed has attracted considerable attention, given the potential impact of an endorsement from a prominent figure like Elon Musk. One user commented enthusiastically: "If Elon Musk is paying attention to us, I think we are doing the groundwork right. So many other organizations seem to be ignoring us at a cost."

“Could it be that Elon Musk has also joined the Cardano train?” user Dom Stocchetti asked curiously, adding: “That wouldn’t surprise me. He’s good at removing confusion and finding the right solution.”

Some have even speculated that Elon Musk may have reconsidered his stance on Dogecoin, leading him to consider Cardano.

Meanwhile, before Cardano enthusiasts could rejoice at having a genuine endorsement from Musk, other market participants quickly discovered that the screenshot was fake.

In particular, Cardano Feed published the post in the spirit of April Fools’ Day, attempting to tease community members. Notably, the administrator of Cardano Feed did not deny that the screenshot was fake.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk himself has also embraced the April 1 prank trend. In a witty tweet, he announced that he had joined Disney as chief diversity and inclusion officer.

He humorously expressed his excitement about working with Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy to make their content “more woke.”

Reflecting on these hoax trends, Ripple’s CTO David Schwartz commented that April 1 is like a “day of reckoning” for social media, the only day of the year when people have to double-check the information they consume.

Elon Musk's Endorsement of Cryptocurrency

Interestingly, this Cardano endorsement hoax came at the early stages of this bull run, similar to when Elon Musk first tweeted about Dogecoin (DOGE). Musk has been a Dogecoin promoter since 2020, contributing to DOGE’s entry into the top ten.

Additionally, the tech billionaire also expressed support for Bitcoin during the last bull quarter. His car company Tesla used to accept Bitcoin in exchange for electric cars until it later stopped the service.

Recent reports indicate that Tesla remains the third-largest public company holding Bitcoin. Elon Musk's company has held 9,720 bitcoins for seven consecutive quarters without buying or selling.
